Tuskegee Airmen Veteran William Fauntroy 95th Birthday Celebration

The community came together to celebrate the 95th birthday of Tuskegee Airmen veteran pilot William Fauntroy.  The Tuskegee Airmen was the first African American aviation unit in US history (1941-1949).  Mr. Fauntroy was outside his residence in the Woodridge neighborhood in Ward 5 of Washington DC, while cars drove in front of his house.  Many of the drivers were waving US and DC flags with signs while wishing the 95-year-old veteran a happy birthday.  A few parked and got close to the house to photograph the many decorations in front of the house.  The community was made aware of the birthday celebration through various community list serves and email lists.
