DC Honors Ms. Casilda Luna

Arriving as a young woman in Washington DC in the early 1960’s from the Dominican Republic, Ms. Casilda Luna came to make a difference.  For many decades she impacted the lives of many in DC, and around the DC Metropolitan area.  On January 12, 2019,  the community came together to honor the life and legacy of the 93 year old DC activist.  Some of the guests that paid tribute to Ms. Luna included, DC Senator Paul Strauss, DC Senator Michael D. Brown, US Representative Franklin Garcia, DC Councilmember Brianne Nadeau, Dominican Ambassador Francisco Cruz, and many others.  Other celebrations are planned around her birthday, April 6, 2019.
